Cuisine: Modern Australian
Location: Perth CBD, King St
I have a more recent food review of Etro here.
I’d met one of uni buddies who worked on King St in the CBD and he took me to this place which I never knew existed. Entering the breezy bistro / cafe on a warm summer’s day was a great idea and a nice relaxed environment to catch up. My friend ordered one of the many panina’s on offer and I had a chicken tandoori roll with chips. My friend enjoyed his meal and so did I. I got this box with a little handle filled with upright shoe string chips which were amazing. My chicken roll was tasty too but lacked the intensity of the tandoori flavouring. Given my parents are Indian, although I’m a born and bred Aussie, I know what tandoori chicken should taste like and this fell a bit short of the mark. Mind you, given I wasn’t easting at an Indian restaurant, I’ll forgive them. A satisfying meal and boy was I full after willing myself to finish each of those delicious chips. Good food should not go to waste!
