9 Mary’s was the venue for a team lunch on a cold winter’s day. Fortunately we had a table next to the window which was really warming. We started with a tasting plate offering a selection of Indian eats. This was pretty good and I really enjoyed the Tandoori chicken. For mains, a couple of the members ordered thallis which are a selection of mini meals served in their own metal containers upon a platter (2 meat curries, 2 vegetable dishes, raitha (yoghurt), dessert, rice and Pappadams). I ordered butter chicken which is a favourite of mine with some garlic naans. The naans were lovely, soft and fluffy. I got a dish of butter chicken which was delicious. Unfortunately I should have ordered some rice but some of the ladies had a bit too much on their plate with their thalis so I kindly accepted their offer. This enabled me to sop up the lovely butter chicken sauce (the sauce is the curry) and the naan cleaned the dish. Very tasty and all the team enjoyed their meals. The only disappointment was we were all feeling very drowsy and had to return to work instead of curling up for an afternoon nap.
Verdict: Excellent, really enjoyed the tandoori chicken, butter chicken and the naans.
Price: Moderately Expensive
