Holiday Part 4 – Melbourne – MoVida

Cuisine: Spanish
Location: Melbourne CBD

After Choix I headed off to the Queen Victoria markets which is a huge market place outdoors but undercover. There is an indoor portion selling breads, meats, fish etc. An interesting place to check out and a great place to get fresh food or grab a pretzel which is just like the kind you get in a packet only much much larger. For lunch it was off to the ever popular Movida which is a Spanish restaurant and is that busy bookings are essential, even for lunch. I grabbed my place for 1 at the bar along side a bunch of other people in a packed room. To start with they wheel out a few slices of their Spanish bread with some olive oil to dip in. I went for rabbit meatballs and king prawns. I’ve never tried rabbit before so I was keen to expand my boundaries and try something new. Absolutely delicious! Both the rabbit and king prawns were very rich but I willed myself to finish this fine meal. It would have been good if it came with some saffron rice to offset the richness.

Verdict: A must try place if you’re in the mood for Spanish.
Price: Reasonable
Taste: Delicious
Value: Excellent

Restaurant Rating System

It's subjective but I base my reviews on 4 key areas:

Price: Bargain > Reasonable > Moderately Expensive > Expensive
Taste: Poor > Average > Great > Delicious
Value: Poor > Good > Reasonable > Excellent
Recommendation: Eat At Home Instead > Try Once If You Want But Not Worth Visiting Again > Worth Visiting > Recommend > Highly Recommend

The final recommendation will consider the price, taste and value. Value will be based on price and other factors like service and serving size.
