Holiday Part 5 – Melbourne – Chocolateria San Churro

Cuisine: Spanish
Location: Melbourne CBD, Fitzroy

Picture of churros - Spanish donuts dusted with icing and served with rich, thick, chocolate sauce

Churros at Fitzroy store (all around Australia - in Perth there's several outlets so check out there website below)

Another thing I had spotted on SBS’s Food Safari on their Spanish edition were a typically Spanish dessert called churros. Seeing is believing so take a look at what I got served. Churros are deep fried doughnuts dusted with ice sugar and served with rich hot thick chocolate sauce. It looks absolutely to die for and as I walked into this place in Fitzroy after a short tram ride out of the Melbourne CBD, I couldn’t believe what was in front of my eyes. Hence, I took a photo of this delight as a memory of my trip. It tastes absolutely amazing – you’re in chocolate heaven.

Verdict: Absolutely amazing.
Price: Reasonable
Taste: Delicious
Value: Excellent
Recommendation: Highly Recommend

Restaurant Rating System

It's subjective but I base my reviews on 4 key areas:

Price: Bargain > Reasonable > Moderately Expensive > Expensive
Taste: Poor > Average > Great > Delicious
Value: Poor > Good > Reasonable > Excellent
Recommendation: Eat At Home Instead > Try Once If You Want But Not Worth Visiting Again > Worth Visiting > Recommend > Highly Recommend

The final recommendation will consider the price, taste and value. Value will be based on price and other factors like service and serving size.
