Rigby’s Bar & Bistro – 14 Nov 2008

Cuisine: Modern Australian, Pub Food
Location: Perth CBD

I have a more recent food review of Rigby’s Bar & Bistro here.

If you want to indulge in some Modern Australian fare then come down to this place. One of our colleagues who had gone to London had returned briefly to Perth. Rigby’s was chosen as the place for a catch up. There’s a great selection of food here so I went for the seafood platter while the others also grabbed a pint or two. It was quite a warm day but what was cool was sitting under the glass roofed atrium outdoors. I really enjoy deep fried foods so a variety of deep fried crispy seafood with chips and tartare sauce was just to my liking. A pleasant meal with good company on a lovely summers day.

Rigby’s Bar & Bistro Food Review Summary

Verdict: Great place to catch up and enjoy a meal at great prices.
Price: Reasonable
Taste: Great
Value: Excellent

Shaun, that must have been an aweful lot of beer you were drinking or too much in the sun, under the glass roof.
I have been to Rigby’s on 4 occasions and on each occasion we have been totally unhappy with the quality of the food we have been served.

I have no forbidden our office from Friday lunches at Rigbys!

      Hi Damian

For a start I don’t drink so I didn’t consume a lot of beer! Was a bit warm that day but the food was solid, nothing wow. It’s not the type of place I’d personally pick to go for lunch but I went along with workmates. Sorry to hear that the food wasn’t up to your expectations – and that’s on 4 visits. Fair enough to ban the Friday lunches there. Opposite in the Parmelia Hilton is Adelphi Steakhouse & Bar which I highly recommend and have eaten there lots of times and been happy with the quality. At my old job in the early days, this was a regular haunt so it might be up your alley.
