Country Road Cafe - 31 Dec 2010

I left feeling quite satisfied. It didn’t wow me but was solid. For the price, I think it’s quite reasonable and the cool interior or a table outside makes for a pleasant setting. I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the pie, but personally, the menu offerings aren’t to my taste but that doesn’t mean it won’t appeal to other people. . . . → Read More: Country Road Cafe – 31 Dec 2010

Greenhouse - 24 Dec 2010

An enjoyable mocha and an equally enjoyable breakfast. The calzone as a breakfast choice is a bit surprising but they pull it off superbly. Some great flavours there but could have done with a bit more salt. It certainly was filling. . . . → Read More: Greenhouse – 24 Dec 2010

Perth's Costly Food

In today’s The West Australian, 27th November 2010, p11 – “High Food Costs, Wages See Perth Diners Fork Out More” – I think anyone that has eaten in Melbourne or Sydney and in Perth, will know that Perth’s food is far more expensive. The Punjab

I really loved the breads which are the best I’ve eaten at an Indian restaurant, particularly, the paneer kulcha. I could have kept eating only that all night long. The platter for 2 was also excellent but the mains were disappointing and lacked a lot of flavour. Indian food is such that it is cooked in spices to impart flavour, but can be mild, spicy or chilli hot. Our mains were mild but contained little flavour. . . . → Read More: The Punjab

Satay Spot

All up, I enjoyed the flavour of the satay which while subtle, was tasty. Other satay’s can have a much more confronting flavour in comparison. An all round meal with the rice, cabbage and prawn crackers which is great value. They also have other items on their menu, particularly, drinks such as ice cendol and the such, typical of an Indonesian restaurant but available in a food court. . . . → Read More: Satay Spot

Lucky Shag - 19 Nov 2010

I really enjoyed my seafood platter and wasn’t let down at any stage. Very generous serving and great value for money. This isn’t the best fish and chips I’ve had but it certainly didn’t disgrace itself. . . . → Read More: Lucky Shag – 19 Nov 2010

Junior Masterchef Finale

I’ve been following the series right from the beginning and just continue to be amazed at the skill level, creation, time management and quality of the food put up by these young kids. There is very little separating the top 4 in terms of the calibre of the food they were serving. I eagerly tuned . . . → Read More: Junior Masterchef Finale

Pancakes At The Carillon - 10 Nov 2010

This place just doesn’t disappoint and I absolutely loved the waffle with a generous serving of ice cream and hot rich chocolate fudge. Absolutely yum! . . . → Read More: Pancakes At The Carillon – 10 Nov 2010
