I have a more recent food review of Pancakes At The Carillon.
I’m sure I’ve come here as a kid but it’s been a while. I’d thought I’d check this place out one afternoon. After having a large morning tea put on by the company, I was pretty full for a long time so I grabbed lunch at around 3pm which worked well because when I got there, obviously the lunch time crowd had long gone. I sat down on the wooden benches and poured over the menu. I think of pancakes as a dessert or breakfast but not as a savoury lunch. I was proven wrong and finally chose the Pocket Full Of Chicken. Two squarish crepes were packed full of a delicious, rich, chicken filling and lightly fried as the outside was a bit crunchy. This was well complemented by a fresh and tangy garden salad, sour cream and a delicious tomato salsa. Given the richness of the meal, the chicken goes really well with the salsa, and surprisingly, with the sour cream too. I really enjoyed my meal but had to return to work. I vowed I must come again for the dessert. Fortunately they do entrée serves of the mains to make this more possible because I was too full after my mains to even consider dessert.
