I’m a big fan of dim sim so I was interested to check this place out which was suggested as the place to go to for good Chinese food by a few of our Asian work mates. We hopped the CAT and after a short stroll into Northbridge, we entered the huge restaurant. I’ve never gone to a restaurant that has a second floor but even the ground floor is huge. Upstairs is apparently where karaoke night is held.
We got a large table with a lazy Susan and waited for our Asian work mates to pick up the select dishes one must try. They were all delicious and the food just kept on coming. Steamed, fried, whatever, it was just amazing. I also managed to get some chicken feet which is a personal favourite and it did not disappoint. Next were the deserts which appear to revolve around egg tart kind mixtures but there are others. The warm egg tarts were delicious but then that was topped by baked pineapple buns. I had missed one dish which everyone was raving on about so I just had enough room to try one more thing – Snow Mountain Egg Yolk Bun. Wow! This blows you away and was by far the tastiest thing I ate all meal. They’re so delicious you just want to keep on eating them. On our next visit here, we particularly targeted this dessert and ordered plenty!
Verdict: There’s a huge offering of meals that come around on the trolleys to choose from. Depending on your tastes, there’s bound to be something to your liking. I really enjoyed this place and definitely would go back many a times, especially for those snow mountain buns. Despite the amount we ordered, finance were chuffed that it worked out to less than $20 per person. How about that for value!
