Another leaving lunch which meant another meal out somewhere, Tony Roma’s it was. Given I’d been here before, I thought I’d try something different so I went for the seasoned chicken – 2 chicken breasts topped with melted cheese and a tomato salsa, served upon rice pilaf. For sides I had the wedges and ranch beans. The ranch beans were red beans within a spicy sauce which was really delicious. The chicken was a little dry and slightly overcooked but had good flavour with the familiar sweetish BBQ sauce marinade that is used on the ribs. The rice was a little bland but it went well with the chicken and melted cheese, with the salsa providing that burst of extra flavour. The wedges were pretty good but I’ve had better. I think I would have been better off with the ribs or another selection from their menu. This place is known for their ribs so it’s best to stick to their speciality.
Tony Roma’s Food Review Summary
Verdict: I found the chicken quite disappointing, especially for the price. The highlight was the red beans in the spicy sauce but you don’t come to a restaurant for the sides. I’m not sure what the other selections on their menu are like with steak, seafood, burgers and pasta to try, but it’s best if you stick with the ribs which are delicious.
Price: Moderately Expensive
Recommendation: Recommend (ribs but not the chicken)
