Location: Northbridge, Roe St
I guess August has been the month for visiting some of the eateries that line Roe St in Northbridge. After visiting Northbridge Chinese and The Bonsai Restaurant Cafe and Lounge, today it was off to try Regal On Roe Seafood Restaurant. I woke up quite late and hadn’t had any breakfast on a lovely bright Sunday morning. Since my parents also hadn’t eaten breakfast, I suggested we skip breakfast and head straight there since these places open around 11am. We were in agreement so holding off the hunger for a bit longer wasn’t going to be too much of a problem.
With little traffic, it didn’t take too long to get to Northbridge and going early meant there wasn’t a queue, although there was one outside Northbridge Chinese. We were immediately seated upon entering the restaurant and the waitstaff with trays in hand came quickly around. Here is a list of some of the items we ordered (apologies if the descriptions are a bit off):
- Complementary Chinese Tea
- BBQ Pork Buns
- Chicken Feet
- Prawn in Rice Flour Pancakes
- Pork Mince In Glutinous Roll
- Prawn Seaweed Rolls
- Steamed Pork Dumplings
- Salt & Pepper Squid
- Deep Fried Crab Packages
- Deep Fried Prawns with Mayonnaise
Of course, there were plenty of other meals left to sample but one can only eat so much. The service was excellent and attentive with one of the waitstaff coming to our table during the end of the meal and asking if there was anything else we would like. As we were still polishing off what was left, we declined the offer for more food. Later, another wait staff came to ask if would like anything else so we inquired what they had in the way of desserts. A short while out came a tray with some dessert selections explaining what they were. We were really full and wanted something light and refreshing so we asked if they had sago which was promptly brought out. That really finished the meal off well. We were stuffed!
Food Review Summary
Verdict: My family and I really enjoyed each of the dishes we ordered which was tasty. The place was clean and presentable and the service was fast and efficient. Another standout dim sum restaurant. Come well before 12pm as this place is popular. In comparison to the other dim sim restaurants, this would rank a little bit lower in terms of quality but not by much. No complaints from me – another satisfied customer and a delicious breakfast!
Recommendation: Highly Recommend
