Cuisine: Modern Australian, Pub Food
Location: Perth CBD, St Georges Terrace
I’ve visited The Terrace Lounge on a few occasions previously, but today, the site doubled as a venue for our quarterly away day followed by lunch. They have a bar which is a popular haunt for after-work drinks on a Friday and a restaurant inside with a function area. During the course of the morning, we were served morning tea with tea, coffee and sweet and savoury eats provided which were good.
We had previously been sent the menu so our meals could be pre-ordered. I ordered the steak sandwich and when lunchtime arrived, our meals were served promptly. I think all colleagues were served their meals within a short space of time which was good to see given some other places where there’s been a big discrepancy. I don’t think I specified how I wanted my steak done but the steak I was served was cooked on the outside and appeared quite raw on the inside. The meals here are simple and good value. For $15 I got a decent size of lovely chips with the sandwich cut in half. It was well filled with caramelised onions, mixed salad greens, tomato, dressing, a pesto like mixture, and of course a thinnish steak served upon thick crusty bread slices. The bread was nicely toasted and the ingredients combined well to make for an enjoyable meal. I would have liked the steak to have been cooked longer but it was a good meal for the price.
Terrace Lounge Food Review Summary
Verdict: The dishes on offer won’t break the bank and good honest meals are prepared and served. A well made steak sandwich with lovely chips delivered on taste and was excellent value.
