Location: Perth CBD, Shafto Lane (others available)
After my visit to Vic Park’s Grill’d store where I had a small taste of the Baa Baa Lamb burger, I vowed to return and experience the full burger. So I set off to Shafto Lane which is not too far away from work and popped into Grill’d early for lunch before the crowds came. I find the burgers served at the various gourmet burger joints are really filling so I decided to just get the Baa Baa Lamb burger on wholemeal bun and give their delicious herbed chips a miss.
After a reasonable wait my burger was served and I was salivating. The Baa Baa Lamb Burger contains grilled 100% grass fed lean lamb, avocado, tasty cheese, salad, relish, and herbed mayo for $14.50. One bite in and the burger just oozed freshness and flavour. The tomato relish was immediately evident in that first bite providing a lovely burst of moisture and sweetness. The toasted wholemeal bun is delicious and the cheese flavour blends nicely in the background with the mushed avocado sticking to the cheese. The lamb patty is cooked perfectly and is just so full of flavour. It’s as good as that small taste I had last time, except I get a whole burger to myself. I just relished every bite and enjoyed it thoroughly. Totally satisfied, I just needed to clean my hands thoroughly with the thick serviette provided. Awesome burger.
Grill’d Food Review Summary
Verdict: I entered the Grill’d Shafto Lane store with high expectations of that small bite I had of the Baa Baa Lamb burger. When it was served and I took my first bite I knew those expectations were met. A burger packed full of flavour and freshness, the sweet tomato relish sticks out immediately, but then the strong flavour of the cheese takes over with the soft avocado sticking to the cheese providing a creamy richness. The salad and herbed mayo add different flavours while the delicious wholemeal bun holding everything together is delicious. But the star of the burger is the lamb. A perfectly cooked and flavoursome patty, it just oozes flavour and I’d have to say lamb is far tastier than the beef variety. The burger hit the mark in all departments and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Recommendation: Highly Recommend
