Lindt Café - Waffles

Lindt Café – Waffles

Who knew the delicious chocolate brand, Lindt, had their own cafes? Apparently several in Sydney so I chose the Lindt Café in Martin Place for breakfast. I was after one thing and one thing only – waffles, with their own Lindt vanilla ice cream, and then smothered in thick rich warm Lindt chocolate sauce. What a way to start the day! The waffle was pretty good but pouring that delicious chocolate sauce all over my waffle and eating it was divine. The chocolate sauce really is that good. The vanilla ice cream does have the Lindt vanilla flavour and it went extremely well with the waffle.

I wasn’t done there. Since I’m here, I may as well takeaway a few items. There’s so much to choose from. They have a maccaron selection so I chose the vanilla and the excellence 70% cocoa. It says on the packet they put them in:

“…Our Delice are best enjoyed fresh and should be consumer as soon as possible…”

Wise advice so I obliged and ate them, just before lunch.

For an afternoon snack I also ordered one of their cakes – the chocolate hazelnut gateau (a slice, not the whole cake). This was pretty good but the chocolate layer tasted a bit like a caramel. Quite rich. I prefer the varieties I’ve eaten at patisseries. Aside from that, they also have coffees, hot chocolate, and milkshakes. There’s plenty of chocolate to buy, with a pick and mix section to help yourself to the many varieties of Lindt chocolate balls available.

Lindt Café Food Review Summary

Verdict: If you need something delectable and just want to treat or indulge yourself, then a visit to the Lindt Café is a must. I ordered a waffle for breakfast. It’s pretty good but not the best but the Lindt flavoured vanilla ice cream and the thick rich Lindt chocolate sauce are the elements which make it indulgent. The maccarons were tasty but I didn’t care that much for the chocolate hazelnut gateau. I’m not sure what the hot chocolate would be like but this is a place you can buy just about everything.
