2014 WA Good Food Guide Award Winners

Good Food Guide Awards - Rob BroadfieldI had the pleasure of attending the 2014 WA Good Food Guide Awards hosted at the State Theatre of WA. A who’s who of restauranteurs, chefs and others from the hospitality industry, including The West Australian’s well known food critic, Rob Broadfield, were there to celebrate the industry and pay homage to some outstanding people who won a series of awards.

Scott Taylor, the man behind The Trustee, Enriques, and Beaufort St Merchant, gave the keynote speech, or more of a comical rant, on the ridiculous red tape hamstringing restauranteurs and small bar operators. While sensible compliance is required, hopefully the politicians will cut the red tape and let these people get on with the job of bringing us excellent food and wine and creating inviting and entertaining areas for patrons to be attracted to.

Following on from the success of The West Australian Good Food Guide 2013 and 2014, Rob Broadfield and his review team sampled over 200 restaurants, bars, and cafes in WA, to compile a comprehensive culinary listing and review in this year’s The West Australian Good Food Guide 2015. Restaurants are scored 0 – 20 points with stars awarded as follows:

3 stars: 18.5 – 20 points
