Location: Perth CBD – 140 William Street
Disclosure: Meal was complimentary
Another new addition to 140 William Street is Ribs & Burgers and I was fortunate to receive an invite. I’ve occasionally received emails from them and was excited to try their food till I realised they’re on the east coast. Not anymore.
I love ribs so the baby backed pork ribs was an easy choice. They also offer beef ribs too. A few colleagues have visited and told me about the amazing burgers so I’ll be making a few visits to try different items on the menu.
The interior is very casual and relaxed. The front of the store is completely open allowing the natural sunlight to flow straight in and light the place up. Or, you can find a table outside or even get a takeaway order. Inside, there’s plenty of booths which gives it a feel akin to that of an American diner.

The ribs have the choice of chips or a salad. Chips for me. A large rack of ribs was presented, barely fitting on the wooden chopping board it was served on, along with a big bowl of chips. The ribs were glistening in the light. They were everything ribs should be – tender, succulent, juicy, and delicious. The glaze was excellent and maybe just needs a little more intensity to amplify the lovely flavour. The serving looks huge but remember they are ribs. Having said that, there’s plenty of meat and one person can manage to polish off the ribs as I did. I also loved the golden brown crunchy chips. There’s quite a few to get through but they are rather moorish and after you eat one, you just want to keep eating more. In the end I polished them off too. I’m pretty stuffed by know, I just need to clean my hands and face of the stick sweet glaze. Fortunately, they also have a mini wash area with soap and water available for a more thorough clean. They only thing it couldn’t do was wipe the smile off my face. Satisfied. Big thanks to Daniel and his team for looking after me.
Ribs & Burgers Food Review Summary
Verdict: It’s great to see the variety of restaurants springing up in Perth and Ribs & Burgers offers diners something new. I ordered the baby backed pork ribs with BBQ glaze, with chips (salad also available). The ribs are everything you would expect – tender, succulent, juicy, and delicious. There’s plenty of meat, manageable for one person, and I polished off each rib. The glaze has a lovely sweet sticky flavour without being too sweet and it makes the eating experience very enjoyable. Then there’s the golden brown crispy chips that are excellent and keep you coming back for more. They’re tasty at the beginning of the meal, the middle of the meal, and still at the end of the meal even if they have gone a bit cold. Totally stuffed but satisfied. I look forward to visiting again to try the other menu items.
Recommendation: Highly Recommend
