The Trinidad Scorpion Strikes Again!
After the flaming success of last year’s inaugural event, get set to celebrate spiciness again this September as the Chilli Fest returns to the fiery furnace of Northbridge Brewing Company (NBC).
The arch nemesis of chilli aficionados around the world – the Trinidad Scorpion – returns to test the mettle of even the bravest punter, alongside the classic Chipotle chilli and limited edition Firehorse 7 Blend hot sauce, made right here in Western Australia.
This year’s Chilli Fest menu will feature a special new addition, mud crabs sourced direct from the Northern Territory. It will also see the return of the ‘18-inch Heat-Seeker Sub’, ‘Sloppy Jose Burger’, ‘Pulled Pork Nachos’, ‘Monkey Bread’, ‘1kg Buffalo Wings’ and – for the sweet tooth – ‘Chilli Chocolate Fondant’ and ‘Deep Fried Icecream’. For those with a burning desire to see how far they can slide along the Scoville Scale, NBC’s ‘Russian Roulette’ features a serve of three Wagyu beef sliders, one with a very spicy secret!
If the going gets too hot, cool your jets with a pint of Master Brewer Ken Arrowsmith’s specially brewed Trinidad Scorpion Chilli Lager.
NBC’s Manager Simon Duncan said the explosive menu for this year’s event was designed as a way of celebrating the diversity and complexity of the humble chilli across a range of dishes.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Chilli Fest back to NBC again in 2016. For those who like a little spice right up to those who really want to set their tastebuds alight, Chilli Fest really has something for everyone,” Simon said.
NBC’s Chilli Week will be setting hearts – and mouths – on fire from 12 to 18 September.
