I had walked past Honey Creme on my way to work and was wondering what this place was. An international chain originating in South Korea and Taiwan, Perth is the first store for their Australian venture. I made a visit during my lunch break to try some of their premium soft serve ice cream. Available in a cone or cup, there’s plenty of options from the menu to choose from. I selected the unusual sounding Bacon with Chocolate. Bacon goes with anything right? A bit steep in price but what isn’t expensive these days? Delicious creamy soft serve with a very slight honey flavour, the chocolate and subtle touch of saltiness from the bacon balances out any richness. I like the crunch of the bacon bits too. Yum! Screw winter, ice cream is good in any weather!

The desserts are a bit pricey but that’s the price you pay for indulgence. The caramel sandwich is delicious, a lovely cronut sandwiching the smooth creamy salted caramel gelato which goes down a treat. The whipped cream with salted caramel sauce is delicious and the dessert, while filling, is not sickening or dominated by too much caramel. I can see this being a hit in summer but any weather is good for gelato, right?

Koko Black’s new Summer Oasis range introduces patrons to two new items – salted caramel iced chocolate and, mango and vanilla ice cream spectacular. Today I returned to try the latter after enjoying the former last week. A very tasty, vanilla flecked ice cream combines superbly with the delicious refreshing mango coulis. The crunch provided by the caramelised wafer on top of the ice cream and the crunch of the coconut crumble at the base of the glass add different textures, flavours, and levels of sweetness to make this an excellent dessert for summer. I really enjoyed it.
Koko Black’s new Summer Oasis range introduces patrons to two new items – salted caramel iced chocolate and, mango and vanilla ice cream spectacular. Tough choice but I went with the former. The first suck gives a bitter aftertaste, with high cocoa content chocolate used in making the iced hot chocolate. This is counteracted with the creamy vanilla ice cream, sweeter chocolate flakes, and of course, the caramel. It’s a very satisfying and decadent dessert that is also very filling. Probably for the price of a milkshake elsewhere, you can enjoy this piece of oasis in summer. I loved it and was just what I needed.

It’s been some years since I last visited and after the first bite, I knew what I was missing – amazingly delicious, crispy yummy waffles. With several varieties to choose from, I opted for the strawberry waffle with chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is a feel good dessert and I loved every bite of it. Cash only.
A Fish Called Inglewood offers patrons a casual restaurant serving an array of different seafood dishes at affordable prices. I had a lovely entree of crispy crumbed crab and corn croquettes with oozing cheese. Despite the slight richness from the corn and cheese, the spicy ketchup was a fantastic touch to add a spicy element. For mains, I enjoyed a lovely juicy piece of seared salmon and it was served with a cold oven roasted vegetable array with moist, fresh, creamy avocado. The cold vegies may seem a little jarring but for the warm weather, it goes nicely. For dessert, we skipped the home made ice cream sticks and instead took home a tub of home made mango ice cream. The ice cream had a lovely mango flavour and was smooth and creamy. It’s lovely to see a casual relaxed place serving quality food with friendly service to boot.
Cuisine: Frozen Yoghurt, Dessert Location: Subiaco, Rokeby Road When I got an invite to the opening of Menchies first store in Perth, I had to ask myself who on earth is Menchies? Menchies are a US chain started by a husband and wife team in 2007 that offer frozen yogurt. […]
